The R194 is an eight-channel composite video character generator and balanced stereo audio switch capable of overlaying EAS alert text messages onto program video and switching audio during EAS alerts. Video PGM loop-thru connections are BNC with audio PGM loop-thru connections on pluggable screw terminals. Control is managed by standard RS-232 signaling using DB9 type connectors. Up to 32 R194’s can be daisy-chained together to allow EAS service to as many as 255 individual analog channels from a single DASDEC/DASDEC-II.
