The Mackie MCU Pro is a 9-fader (eight channels plus one master) USB/MIDI control surface that provides mixing, editing, automation, and navigational control for any supported digital audio workstation. It supports Mackie Control, HUI, and Logic Control modes to allow it to communicate with various software applications. Connect the MCU Pro to your computer via USB or MIDI.
Each of the eight channel strips includes a touch-sensitive 100mm Alps motorized fader in addition to mute, solo, and record arming buttons. Also included is a signal LED, a channel select button, and a V-Pot that can be used to control panning, send levels, EQ, dynamics, and other DSP plug-in modules. The control surface also contains a full automation assignment section, edit buttons, undo, redo, and save buttons, and a Shift modifier that offers dual functionality for specific commands.
Navigational control is provided in a tape-style transport with a jog/shuttle wheel, loop in/out points, and timeline quick jump buttons. The unit works seamlessly with most music software programs, and DAW-specific Lexan overlays that fit right over the master section can be used to personalize the control surface.
The MCU Pro features a download of ProTools | First and Waveform software and The Musician’s Collection plug-in package including 23 high-quality plugins with BBD Delay, Level Lite, 304E EQ, and 304C Compressor. To authorize the software, simply input the mixer’s serial number on the website.
